Large, bilateral, fusiform palatine torus

Authors

Abstract

The torus or palatal rim is a type of abnormal protuberant bone growth, on the roof of the mouth or on the palate, which generally appears in the midline. Its cause is still undetermined, although some authors attribute a genetic origin to it. Although it does not represent a risk to life, some cases require surgical intervention.
