Social impact of the implementation of the Incremental Stomatologic Assistance Program in the population of "Belkis Sotomayor Álvarez" Polyclinic
Abstract
Introduction: dental caries is the most important human stomatological entity; despite the efforts of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, aimed at ensuring the oral health of the population, the incidence and prevalence of dental caries is high, especially in children under 19 years of age, so it is urgent to develop preventive and prophylactic work with the child population in the context of family and community.
Objective: to describre the social repercussion of the Incremental Stomatologic Assistance Program in the population of the University Polyclinic "Belkis Sotomayor Álvarez" of Ciego de Ávila.
Method: the national and international bibliography of the last five years in digital and printed formats and the records of de Incremental Stomatologic Assistance Program in the Polyclinic were reviewed.
Development: in the third year of developing the Incremental Stomatologic Assistance Program was achived 100 % coverage of the population of the health area, and during the study period was confirmed the progressive decrease of the incidence rates, prevalence and severity of dental caries, dental materials were saved, a greater and more effective relationship with the population of the health area was achieved, which generated responsible attitudes towards personal oral health in the patients and increased their satisfaction with the stomatologic services of the Polyclinic.Downloads
