Diabetes mellitus from the Primary Health Care
Abstract
In an article published in MediCiego Magazine in 2014, in the Original Article section, entitled Behavior of endocrinological morbidity in the outpatient department of the Central Hospital of Benguela, the authors describe the behavior of morbidity in the Consultation Endocrinology of the said Hospital in the periods from August to December 2011 and from April to August 2012, and conclude that diabetes mellitus type 2 was the most common diagnosis.
This is an issue of great importance today due to multiple risk factors -detected from the primary level of attention- in diabetic patients; despite many government and health efforts to reduce its incidence and strengthen health education about, the increasing trend of cases shows that programs and resources allocated have not had the desired impact.Downloads
