Population satisfaction with the Service of Natural and Traditional Medicine in North Polyclinic of Ciego de Ávila
Abstract
Introduction: to evaluate the development of the National Program of Natural and Traditional Medicine annually is measured a set of parameters –compliance of the production plan, prescription of natural medicines, the use of acupuncture and related techniques, research, promotion activities, among others– which make possible to know the progress, achievements and difficulties in its way, and the degree of satisfaction of the population (which is the indicator of the social impact achieved by the Program).
Objective: to measure the satisfaction degree of the population with the Service of Natural and Traditional Medicine in the North Area University Polyclinic of Ciego de Ávila.
Method: a descriptive observational longitudinal study was carried out at the Service of Natural and Traditional Medicine of the North Area University Polyclinic of Ciego de Ávila, in the period from January to March 2015. The universe was composed by 160 people between patients and companions, of that was selected a sample of 93. A structured questionnaire was used for the interview.
Results: all respondents found solution to their health problems, although 12,6 % did not experienced full recovery; no adverse reactions to treatments were reported. Regarding medical care and nurse in the Service 92,7 % of patients said found quite satisfied and 7,3 % very satisfied.
Conclusions: patients and their companions expressed a high degree of satisfaction with the Service of Natural and Traditional Medicine of the North Area University Polyclinic of Ciego de Ávila, although there are subjective factors that limit it.
