Abstract

The “one health” approach integrates human, animal, and ecosystem health and constitutes a framework for addressing the health challenges of the 21st century. On the African continent, the nursing profession can and should lead the transition toward sustainable health models through the promotion of patient care, environmental protection, and intersectoral cooperation. Transdisciplinary education, community participation, and the ethics of care are essential to consolidate this paradigm and to ensure community resilience in the face of zoonotic and environmental risks.
