Chronobiology in the evolution of Thrombolized ST elevation Acute Myocardial Infarction
Keywords:
chronobiological phenomena; ST- segment elevation myocardial infarction; thrombolytic therapyAbstract
Introduction: In recent decades, cardiovascular chronopathology has experienced increasing interest.
Objective: to determine the influence of chronobiology on the evolution of patients with ST-segment elevation acute myocardial infarction who were thrombolyzed, hospitalized in the cardiology service of the Manuel Ascunce Domenech Provincial Hospital, January 2018 - December 2022.
Method: A cross-sectional analytical observational study was carried out. The universe consisted of 99 patients.
Result: male patients aged 60 to 69 years predominated, greater effectiveness of thrombolytic therapy was observed in the hours before the meridians, in the months of October and January, in the cold months and in the waxing moon, while complications were present in the meridian hours, in the cold months, in the waning quarter. Deaths occurred during the meridian hours, in the warm months and during the waning moon
Conclusions: Males aged 60 to 69 years predominated. Treatment was effective during the pre-meridian hours of symptom onset, in October and the new moon. Complications prevailed during the past meridian hours of symptom onset. Fewer complications occurred on Tuesdays, in August, in the cold months and during the new moon. More patients died during the past meridian hours of symptom onset, on Saturdays, in May, in the warm months and during the waning moon.
