Abstract

Stevens Johnson syndrome is an acute inflammatory disease, with abrupt onset, rare, potentially fatal, characterized by lesions on the skin and mucous membranes, fever and general prostration. This results from hypersensitivity to different precipitating factors, the most common cause being drugs. Its diagnosis is fundamentally clinical and the affected body surface area is an important prognostic factor.
