Epidemiology of inflammatory pelvic disease

Abstract

The inflammatory pelvic disease affects each year a great number of women in reproductive age associating this to important complications and sequelae as chronic pelvic pain, infertility and ectopic pregnancy. In the last few years there has been important advances in the study of the illness we present in this review an actual insight to the etiology, patogeny and main risk factors of this entity hoping this will constituted an important tool for primary care doctors in their labor of prevention and health promotion.
