A therapeutic clinical trial was conducted, involving 158 patients that attended the dental service of the Majagua Polyclinic for temporomandibular joint disfunction. Once the first phase of treatment consisting of relieving the symptoms is confirmed, differents techniques were applied such as the medicated treatment for the first group and body acupuncture to the second group; a third group was applied a combination of magnetopressure and pressure acupuncture, a relaxant myoplate was placed together with the previous therapies. Once symptoms are aliviated and musculature relaxed, we proceed with the occlusal examinationand then with the adjustment of the occlusal function by the nacessary techniques. Outcomes in the first phase are good, not differing much among the groups under study.Downloads
