Perforation is the main indication of surgel for ulcerative illness. Proximal gastric vagotomy constituted the surgery option for duodenal ulcer thus it can be a useful option to combine with suture and epipoplasty in the perforative emergency. With the aim of investigating the initial results of prosimal gastric vagotomy 44 patients were operated in the Teaching General Hospital "Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola" between 1995 and 2000 to whom this technic was applied in case of a duodenal perforation. Such cases were followed in the commediate and late postoperative. The 75% of patients was operated before 12 hours of the presentation of the perforation. It was used a mean surgical time of 83 minutes: postoperative complications appeared in the 87.5% of patients operated after 12 hours of being perforated. Adverse events linked the procedures were seen in the 13.6% of cases. There was no death. The aplication of this technic perforation time less than 12 hours guarantee a low morbility and mortality and an acceptable index of recurrence in a mean term.Downloads
