Cytohistological correlation of cervical intraepithelial lesions.
Abstract
An, observational, descriptive and retrospective study was carried out in order to compare the cytological and histological correlation in the intraepithelial lesions of the cervix uteri in the General Teaching Hospital "Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola" in Ciego de Avila, from January 1st, 2009 to December 31st , 2010. 210 patients were studied; the most common age of appearance of these lesions was between 25 and 44 years old, predominantly in women between 25 and 34 years. In the 210 cases, 163 of them had diagnostic correlation, 105 coincidental cases were diagnosed squamous intraepithelial lesion of low-grade and 73 cases had high-grade of intraepithelial lesions.Downloads
