Características de la morbilidad en pacientes de la unidad de cuidados intensivos pediátricos. Estudio de un año
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo de tipo retrospectivo para conocer las características de la morbilidad en 253 pacientes ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Pediátricos del Hospital General Provincial Docente de Morón durante el período de enero a diciembre del año 2002. El grupo de edad menor de 1 año representó el 37,6% del total de ingresos y el sexo masculino el 39,2%. Los servicios de procedencias más frecuentes fueron el cuerpo de guardia (59,3%), las salas de misceláneas (15,9%) y la sala de enfermedades respiratorias (14,3%). Las principales enfermedades que aportaron el mayor número de ingresos fueron las enfermedades respiratorias con el 37,2%, enfermedades diarreicas (18,5%) y los accidentes (16,3%). Las tres complicaciones que se presentaron con mayor frecuencia fueron: el fallo del medio interno (59,2%), fallo respiratorio (47,8%) y el fallo hematológico (5,5%). La mayoría de las enfermedades tuvo una estadía entre 1 a 3 días (81,0%).
