Anestesia peridural caudal en el paciente pediátrico.

Abstract

La anestesia peridural caudal es el mas útil y popular bloqueo regional pediátrico usado actualmente ,es simple de realizar y fácilmente adaptable a la práctica moderna de la anestesiología. Con el objetivo de describir el comportamiento de esta técnica se estudiaron 60  niños menores de 6 años los cuales fueron anunciados de forma electiva para Intervenciones quirúrgicas de hemiabdomen inferior y a los que se les aplicó el bloqueo caudal utilizando bupivacaina al 0.25% (3mg/Kg.) logrando una efectividad del 95%, buena estabilidad hemodinámica y recuperación rápida de la conciencia. El tiempo promedio de analgesia alcanzada fue de 277’+43,7’, el 86% de los pacientes despertaron tranquilamente y las complicaciones observadas fueron mínimas .Nuestros resultados coinciden con la literatura revisada, pudiendo concluir que el bloqueo caudal es efectivo y seguro en anestesia pediátrica además de brindar una prolongada analgesia postoperatoria.
