Incidencia de leptospirosis en niños desde 1980 hasta 2003 en la provincia de Ciego de Avila
Abstract
La Leptospirosis ha ganado aumentado su incidencia en los niños, por tal motivo se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo, donde se tuvo como universo a los 280 casos confirmados en edades pediátricas en el período de 1980 al 2003 en nuestra provincia. Se obtuvo como resultado un predominio del grupo de 10 a 14 años y mayor frecuencia del sexo masculino, la presentación de casos aislados superó a los brotes, hubo mayor incidencia de casos en el período de 1980 a 1986, la fuente probable de infección de mayor frecuencia fue el baño en fuentes de agua dulce; de 1994 -al 2003 se incrementó el diagnóstico presuntivo de Leptospirosis, los síntomas y signos más registrados fueron: fiebre, cefalea y mialgias. La Microaglutinación fue la técnica serológica que en mayor porciento confirmó el diagnóstico.
