Estudio clínico epidemiológico de la migraña en el niño.
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo de tipo prospectivo de 86 niños con diagnóstico de migraña atendidas en la consulta de cefalea del Hospital General Provincial Docente Roberto Rodríguez Fernández de Morón, en el periodo comprendido desde enero del 2000 hasta enero del 2004. El tipo de migraña más frecuente fue la sin aura. El 58,8% de los niños de 5 a 9 años de edad pertenecían al sexo masculino. La cefalea fue grado I para el grupo de 5 a 9 años de edad y grado III para los mayores de 15 años. En el 52,2% de los casos la cefalea duró menos de 1 hora. El estrés y la exposición al sol fueron los desencadenantes más frecuentes. Los estudios de neuroimágen mostraron resultados negativos. La mayoría de los niños necesitaron medidas no farmacológicas para abortar las crisis, y para el control de la migraña. Las crisis se presentaron 3 veces por mes antes del tratamiento preventivo, y 2 veces por mes después del tratamiento.
