Comportamiento y tendencias en la mortalidad por enfermedades cerebrovasculares.
Abstract
Se realizó una investigación observacional descriptiva para conocer el comportamiento y las tendencias en la mortalidad por enfermedades cerebrovasculares en la provincia Ciego de Avila durante el decenio 1993-2003. Se estudiaron la totalidad de fallecidos en este período obteniéndose a través del registro de fallecidos del departamento de la Dirección Provincial de Salud. Se calcularon las tasas brutas de mortalidad y su tendencia lineal relacionada con su tipo etiológico, sexo y grupo de edades. Se encontró que la mortalidad por enfermedades cerebrovasculares en los últimos años ha tenido una tendencia lineal ligeramente descendente. Dentro de su tipo etiológico las hemorragias intracerebrales es el único evento que se muestra en franco ascenso, las isquemias y la hemorragia subaracnoidea descienden. En los menores de 50 años, aunque las tasas de mortalidad son bajas, su tendencia es aumentar; los grupos de edades comprendidas entre 50 y 70 años las tendencias son descendentes, estacionarias entre 70 y 79 y marcadamente ascendente en los mayores de 80 años.
