Aurículopuntura en el tratamiento del bruxismo.
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio caso control para determinar el efecto de la auriculopuntura en las personas bruxópatas que acudieron a la Clínica Estomatológica Docente de Ciego de Ávila durante los meses de octubre del 2003 a abril del 2004. La muestra estuvo constituida por 24 pacientes que se distribuyeron equitativamente en un grupo estudio que recibió tratamiento con semillas de cardo santo auriculares, y un grupo control con tratamiento convencional. La mayor cantidad de los pacientes atendidos se encontraban sometidos a altas tensiones psicológicas y el dolor de los músculos maseteros fue el más frecuente. El tratamiento auriculopuntural fue evaluado como Bueno en el 70% de las personas atendidas. Podemos considerar que la auriculoterapia es una modalidad saludable, beneficiosa y de fácil aplicación para el control del Bruxismo, y que constituye una alternativa en su tratamiento.
