Lepra. Morbilidad, pronóstico y estratificación.
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio longitudinal retrospectivo para conocer el comportamiento epidemiológico de la lepra en el municipio de Morón durante el periodo de 1998 hasta el 2003. El universo de estudio estuvo representado por 35 casos de lepra. La lepra constituye un problema de salud en el municipio porque la tasa de prevalencia es superior a 1 caso x 105 Habitantes. El año que mayor tasa presentó fue el 2000. El área Sur es el que mayor cantidad de casos de lepra ha notificado durante el tiempo que se analizó. La forma clínica Dimorfa y la Tuberculoide fueron las predominantes en el estudio. La población de riesgo resultó ser la fuente de infección de los casos de lepra. Más de la mitad de los pacientes han estado expuestos a la fuente de infección entre 7 años y más.
