Evaluación del nivel educativo del paciente diabético en la atención primaria de salud.

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio Observacional descriptivo transversal con los pacientes diabéticos perteneciente a la policlínica Área norte del municipio Ciego de Ávila con el objetivo de describir el nivel de conocimiento de estos sobre su enfermedad. Se conformo una muestra con el 30% de los pacientes dispensarizados hasta el 30 de Noviembre del 2005 que tuvieran entre 15 y 85 años y sin impedimentos físicos o mentales. Se concluyó que en esta área de salud más de la mitad de los pacientes tiene conocimientos generales calificados como regulares sobre su enfermedad. En acápites específicos se demostró que los conocimientos sobre dieta y cuidados generales del enfermo fueron buenos, no siendo así en lo relativo a ejercicios físicos y pruebas de control. Los diabéticos con mayor nivel de escolaridad y los de más de 10 años de evolución de su enfermedad mostraron tener mejores conocimientos que el resto.
