Pie diabético y su prevención.

Abstract

Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica acerca del pie diabético, que constituye una grave situación cuya expresión final puede ser la pérdida parcial o total de la extremidad; de ahí la importancia de realizar una estrategia de prevención, tanto en la atención primaria como hospitalaria, para lograr un abordaje coherente, integral y riguroso de este problema, desde un enfoque multidisciplinario, consiguiendo una visión unitaria del pie diabético.  Se revisa concepto, epidemiología, principales aspectos fisiopatológicos, el enfoque clínico y el tratamiento, que incluye: las medidas de prevención, tratamiento médico y quirúrgico.
