Behavior of the Adrenal Hyperplasia Congenital Program in the southern part of Ciego de Avila´s province. 2005 to 2011
Abstract
The Adrenal Hyperplasia Congenital includes a group of enzyme disorders of the adrenal gland that entail to an alteration in the synthesis of Hydrocortisone and Aldosterone, with accumulation of androgen precursors. It was carried out a, retrospective observational descriptive study of evaluation character about the development of the program since its implementation in October 2005 until December 2011, number of elevated results, of the municipalities where it is offered the services of the SUMA laboratory of the Provincial Teaching General Hospital "Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola". There were analyzed 14985 samples of dried blood of newborn on filter paper in the southern part of Ciego de Avila´s Province, in addition to all children of the different areas of the province who were hospitalized in this hospital to the fifth day of being born. The statistical analysis was carried out through the package of statistical information SPSS to Windows XP. As measure of summarizing information there were used the frequency and percentage distributions. It was demonstrated the interrelation between the high values of elevated results of 17 - OH progesterone, Infant Low Birth Weight and the gestational age before 37 weeks.Downloads
