Manejo práctico diagnóstico del niño con diarrea crónica
Abstract
Partiendo de la necesidad de una metodología que permita al médico de la Atención Primaria de Salud (APS) el manejo práctico diagnóstico del niño con diarrea crónica se realiza una investigación observacional descriptiva durante un periodo de diez años a todo niño portador de esta patología atendido en la consulta de Gastroenterología Pediátrica del Hospital Provincial Docente “Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola” y una revisión exhaustiva del tema. En el estudio realizado se detecta que la primera causa de diarreas crónicas en la provincia de Ciego de Ávila es el parasitismo intestinal y de este la Giardia lamblia, seguidos por el Colon Irritable de la Infancia, el Síndrome Post-enterítico y la Enfermedad Celíaca. Partiendo de estos resultados y la revisión bibliográfica se elaboró un algoritmo diagnóstico que permite al médico de la Atención Primaria de Salud realizar el estudio de estos pacientes con un mínimo de complementarios en forma práctica simple y con un bajo costo tanto para la institución como para el paciente.
