Consideraciones clínico-epidemiológicas de los traumatismos oculares

Abstract

Realizamos un estudio observacional descriptivo a todos los pacientes ingresados en el Servicio de Oftalmología del Hospital Provincial General Docente “Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola” de Ciego de Ávila, con el diagnóstico de traumatismo ocular, desde enero del 2002 a noviembre de 2005. Se realizó un examen oftalmológico completo y nos auxiliamos de una encuesta para la obtención de información. Se comprobó que los varones menores de 30 años son los más afectados por este tipo de lesión, donde casi dos tercios pertenecían al área rural y más del 30% eran obreros agrícolas
