Empleo del tisuacryl como adhesivo tisular en el cierre de heridas faciales cutáneas y de la mucosa bucal

Abstract

Teniendo en cuenta las propiedades de los cianocrilatos y sus aplicaciones en el campo estomatológico, estudiamos: La efectividad y seguridad del Tisuacryl en el cierre de heridas faciales cutáneas y de la mucosa oral. Se realizó un ensayo clínico fase II, monocéntrico, controlado, aleatorizado, no secuencial, paralelo, abierto y de extensión terapéutica cuyo universo estuvo constituido por todos los pacientes de 0 a 80 años de edad que acudieron al servicio de Cirugía Maxilofacial del Hospital “Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola” de Ciego de Ávila en el período comprendido desde octubre del 2002 hasta julio del 2004. La muestra la conformaron 120 pacientes formándose dos grupos de 60 pacientes cada uno: un grupo estudio tratado con Tisuacryl, y un grupo control tratado con sutura. Se realizaron evaluaciones entre los 5 y 15 min., entre los 7 y 10 días y a los 30 días de aplicados ambos tratamientos. El Tisuacryl superó en eficacia a la sutura, constituyendo este producto otra alternativa en la Cirugía Maxilofacial; se reportaron en el postoperatorio varios beneficios: solo se aplica una vez, facilita la autolimpieza, no afecta la estética ni la función, mayor comodidad para los pacientes tratados. Además no se presentaron eventos adversos referidos a la aplicación del producto.
