Dolor en el recién nacido
Abstract
Durante muchos años se ha realizado un insuficiente tratamiento del dolor en los neonatos debido a ideas preconcebidas como la que plantea que es incapaz de sentir dolor, sin embargo, en la actualidad se ha producido una aproximación al dolor del recién nacido. Hoy está demostrado que no sólo son capaces de sentirlo, sino que lo hacen con mayor intensidad que las personas de otras edades de la vida. Con el objetivo de profundizar en el comportamiento del recién nacido ante el dolor, las consecuencias que tiene el no tratamiento del mismo y los diferentes métodos para combatirlo hemos realizado una revisión bibliográfica, teniendo en cuenta los autores que han dedicado mayor tiempo al estudio del tema. Evitar el dolor y calmarlo con medidas de intensidad adecuada, debe formar parte de los objetivos de calidad de la asistencia neonatal.Downloads
