Náuseas y vómitos postoperatorios. El pequeño gran problema.

Abstract

Las náuseas y vómitos postoperatorios constituyen una complicación frecuente de la cirugía, la anestesia y analgesia con opioides, su frecuencia alcanza valores tan altos como el 20 y 50% lo cual ha propiciado que se le llame el pequeño gran problema. En este artículo se revisan los conceptos de náuseas, arqueadas y vómitos, se realiza un breve recuento anatomofisiológico sobre el acto del vómito, se mencionan los métodos más aceptados para establecer los pacientes de riesgo, así como revisar los recursos farmacológicos y no farmacológicos para la profilaxis y tratamiento de las náuseas y vómitos postoperatorios.
