Neuropatía compresiva del nervio supraescapular. Presentación de un caso
Abstract
La neuropatía compresiva del nervio supraescapular se ha considerado un síndrome por las múltiples causas que la ocasionan, pero continúa siendo una patología poco frecuente y difícil de diagnosticar. El 70% de los pacientes requieren tratamiento quirúrgico y responden favorablemente al mismo con un 99% de resultados excelentes y buenos. Presentamos una paciente de 35 años de edad, blanca, femenina que labora como ensambladora en una fábrica de muebles con antecedentes de dolor en la zona posterolateral del hombro. Después de siete meses de evolución no mejoró con los tratamientos conservadores impuestos, presentando dolor mantenido que deterioraba su estilo de vida, imposibilidad de utilizar las manos en actividades por encima del hombro y disminución progresiva de la fuerza muscular a la abducción y rotación externa. Se realizan estudios de conducción nerviosa y electromiográficos concluyendo con el diagnóstico de compresión del nervio supraescapular a nivel de la incisura de la escápula, se practica sección de ligamento transverso supraescapular por la técnica de Post y Mayer y se obtienen un resultado excelente en la evolución postoperatoria.
