Caracterización epidemiológica del niño quemado asistido en la Unidad de Quemados del Hospital de Ciego de Avila.
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo analizando las características epidemiológicas de 146 pacientes asistidos en la Unidad de Caumatología del Hospital Provincial Docente “Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola” por quemaduras pequeñas. Fue atendido con mayor frecuencia el grupo de edad de 0-4 años representando el 13,7%, con predominio en general del sexo masculino (50,7%) sobre el femenino (49,3%) y con una procedencia mayormente urbana (73,3%). Las lesiones térmicas por líquidos son responsables del 69,8% de los pacientes con quemaduras atendidos en el Servicio. Le siguen en orden de frecuencia los sólidos y el fuego directo representando el 17,8% y el 10,3% respectivamente. El mayor número de casos presentaron quemaduras dérmicas A (63,7%) seguidos por las quemaduras epidérmicas (18,5%). Las zonas del cuerpo más afectadas fueron los miembros superiores y los inferiores con un 39,0% y 35,6% respectivamente, predominando las lesiones con una extensión de menos del 4% para un 90,4%.
