Intervención educativa para elevar el nivel de conocimiento en ancianos con diabetes mellitus del Consultorio 18 del Área Norte del municipio Ciego de Ávila.
Abstract
La diabetes mellitus en el anciano constituye un problema para la salud pública a nivel mundial, considerándose el síndrome endocrino más frecuente en seres humanos. En este trabajo se implementa una intervención educativa con el objetivo de elevar el nivel de conocimiento de la enfermedad en ancianos del Consultorio 18 del Área Norte del municipio Ciego de Ávila. A partir de un estudio de tipo pre-experimental se determinaron los conocimientos generales sobre la diabetes mellitus, la dieta y el ejercicio físico de los ancianos donde predominó un bajo nivel al inicio del estudio. Los resultados finales obtenidos señalan la efectividad de la intervención educativa al elevarse el nivel de conocimiento que presentaron los ancianos al terminar la investigación, concluyendo que se hace necesario este tipo de estrategia en los ancianos con diabetes mellitus a fin de mejorar su calidad de vidaDownloads
