Prevalencia de las enfermedades gingivales agudas en las urgencias estomatológicas
Abstract
Este trabajo es resultado de un estudio epidemiológico descriptivo transversal con el propósito de determinar la prevalencia de algunas de las enfermedades gingivales agudas atendidas en las urgencias estomatológicas en el Centro de Diagnóstico Integral “Los Godos” en la ciudad de Maturín en el Estado Monagas en la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, durante el periodo comprendido del mes de enero del 2009 a diciembre del 2009. Las variables objeto de estudio fueron: las enfermedades gingivales agudas, la edad, el sexo y los factores de riesgos. Los resultados obtenidos evidencian que las enfermedades gingivales agudas en las urgencias estomatológicas se manifestaron con una prevalencia del 30,3% con respecto al total de urgencias y la estomatitis aftosa recurrente entre las enfermedades gingivales fue la predominante con un 63,8% de comportamiento. Además, el estado de higiene bucal en los pacientes que presentaron enfermedades gingivales agudas resultó ser el factor de riesgo que se manifestó con mayor incidencia.Downloads
