Tratamiento y control sistemático sobre pacientes diabéticos

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo durante doce años en cincuenta y seis pacientes diabéticos tipo dos atendidos en el servicio de periodoncia de la clínica estomatológica centro del municipio Ciego de Avila, con el objetivo de evaluar el comportamiento del tratamiento y control estomatológico sistemático sobre estos pacientes. Se describen variables estomatológicas como la mortalidad dentaria y la necesidad de prótesis al comenzar el tratamiento y después de doce años de iniciado el mismo, enfatizando en la necesidad de sistematizar el control del tratamiento estomatológico para lograr un buen estado de salud bucal y menor necesidad de tratamiento quirúrgico en este tipo de paciente.
