Actualización sobre otitis externa maligna del diabético

Abstract

Se realiza una revisión bibliográfica sobre la Otitis Externa Maligna del Diabético con el objetivo de actualizarnos sobre este tema. Se revisa la literatura más reciente, incluyendo la búsqueda de artículos en el sistema MEDLINE y el LILACS. Comprobamos que el gérmen más frecuente encontrado es la Pseudomona aeuroginosa y que la toxina que produce es la causante de la evolución tórpida de esta patología en pacientes inmunodeprimidos como son los diabéticos. Se corrobora la asociación de antibióticos desde el inicio del tratamiento (aminoglucósido y penicilina semisintética) como una medida eficaz en la buena evolución de estos pacientes. Se plantea el uso de radionucleótidos como otra medida terapéutica con buenos resultados
