Abstract

Se realiza una investigación sobre la obtención de bibliografía relacionado con las ciencias médicas, utilizando para ello en el Centro de información de Ciencias Médicas de Ciego de Ávila el sistema MEDLINE para la obtención de las citas bibliográficas. Este estudio se realizó durante dos años de enero de 1992 a enero de 1994, se relacionaron los datos y se realizó pruebas estadísticas. Se obtuvo un 48,17% de respuestas a nuestras solicitudes, el costo de un trabajo por nuestra parte fue de 0,89 centavos (moneda nacional) y por parte de quien envía el trabajo de $ 5,14 (dólares). Se ahorraron al país $ 952,72 (dólares) en la obtención de estos artículos. América del norte fue el continente de mayor respuesta, seguido de Asia y Europa; Dinamarca el país que más respondió, seguido de Suecia, Estados Unidos, Francia y España
