La depresión en la tercera edad. Una problemática actual en nuestra comunidad.

Abstract

Se realizo un estudio prospectivo de corte transversal en el casco urbano del municipio Bolivia.Se seleccionaron al azar 88 personas mayores de 68 a os para conocer la presencia de estados depresivos, y mediante nuestra intervención tratar de disminuir y/o eliminar dichos estados patológicos. El 77,3% de los investigados presentaban manifestaciones depresivas; siendo las mas frecuentes la tristeza-nostalgia y el enlentecimiento psicomotor; mientras que la perdida de contemporáneos y salud fueron las de mayor responsabilidad dentro de los factores desencadenantes. Luego de aplicar un programa de medidas que incluyo: incorporación a hogares de ancianos, círculos de abuelos terapia ocupacional y actividades recreativas; se concluyo, que el mismo resulto exitoso ya que solo persistió el 14,7% de los afectados al concluir el estudio
