Morbimortalidad geriátrica en cuidados intensivos

Abstract

Se estudiaron los 250 pacientes geriátricos ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos y se realizó un estudio de morbimortalidad. Se establecieron asociaciones con variables como edad, sexo, raza, causa de ingreso y de muerte. Se encontró relación algunas de ellas observándose predominio del sexo femenino, mayor mortalidad según aumentaba la edad, las principales causas de ingreso fueron las diferentes formas de la cardiopatía isquémica (infarto agudo del miocardio y angina inestable aguda). La principal causa de muerte fue el infarto agudo del miocardio y se determinó que la estadía geriátrica fue baja. Se analizaron los resultados y se elaboraron conclusiones.
