Dos médicos florencianos en la lucha contra Machado
Abstract
Este trabajo tiene como objetivo la divulgación de los datos biográficos de dos médicos florencianos vinculados a las actividades revolucionarias en la provincia de Ciego de Ávila y la contribución a la formación y desarrollo de los recursos humanos en la salud. Colaborando con ello a resolver la necesidad de destacar conducta, valores y características de personalidades de la salud y escasas fuentes bibliográficas que abordan estos temas. Para su elaboración, se consultaron documentos de la época, así como entrevistas a personas conocedoras de la historia de Florencia y visitas al museo de esta localidad. Sus resultados informan que el sector de la salud en la provincia Ciego de Ávila, específicamente en Florencia, cuenta con dos baluartes históricos: Dr. Mario Bernardo Hernández Pedraza y Dr. Julio Roberto Pérez de Alejo Gómez, hombres que no vacilaron en incorporarse a la lucha contra el gobierno de Gerardo Machado. Las acciones realizadas por estos galenos, su contribución social en el territorio, está en correspondencia con el paradigma médico social y a la vez con una etapa poco divulgada de la historia local en Ciego de Ávila.Downloads
