Regarding the article: “Information Literacy Competencies in Family Medicine Residents”
In Volume 32 (continuous publication) of 2026 of the journal Mediciego, the article entitled “Information Literacy Competencies in Family Medicine Residents” appears. It addresses a topic of great importance for professors involved in the postgraduate training of residents.
The article highlights the need to integrate information literacy as an essential competency in contemporary medical education—not as a complement, but as the foundation of evidence-based practice, high-quality research, and professional excellence. Beyond teaching how to search for information, the aim is to train critical, autonomous, and ethically responsible professionals in the access, use, and dissemination of scientific knowledge.
