Methods: cross-sectional descriptive study, in a universe of 116 patients diagnosed with post-COVID-19 syndrome, who attended the consultations and the medical expertise commission, of the Polyclinic of Specialties of the Provincial Hospital "Saturnino Lora", in the municipality of Santiago de Cuba, with a complete clinical history of their disease in 2022; clinical and demographic variables were analyzed. The ethical precepts were complied with.
Results: the most represented health area was November 30, with 20.69%. Ages from 40 to 59 years and female, constituted 32.84%. Smoking represented 70.97%, in ages 50 to 59 years. Decay occurred in all patients, regardless of age. High blood pressure represented 93.97% of comorbidities. Glutamic pyruvic transaminase was elevated by 98.28%. Axomyelinated damage was diagnosed in all patients.
Conclusions: it was evident that post-COVID-19 syndrome is common in women, between 40 and 59 years old, with a smoking habit and high blood pressure. The syndrome showed multisymptomatic and multiorgan behavior, with sequelae.
