Three images are presented (Fig. 1) of a 79-year-old white male patient with a personal pathological history of indiscriminate sun exposure. The images correspond to a keratoacanthoma located on the face. Etiologically, several factors are described, such as genetic, immunological, traumatic and infectious; but it is the sun, with its cumulative radiant action on the skin surface, that is most responsible. A dermoscopy was performed where several structures were observed: central keratin mass, fork-shaped vessels, a yellowish-white halo surrounding the vessels, and pearly structures surrounded by whitish circles.
