Mortalidad general por cáncer en el Hospital Provincial Antonio Luaces Iraola en el periodo 2000-2002
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio transversal descriptivo revisándose 1751 protocolos de autopsias de pacientes fallecidos entre los años 2000-2002. Se estudiaron 315 casos con el diagnostico de algún tipo de cáncer como causa básica de muerte lo que constituyó el 29.4 % del total de fallecidos. Las tres localizaciones mas frecuentes fueron en orden de frecuencia, pulmón, medula ósea y colon. Se diagnosticó el 56.4 %de los casos en pacientes con más de 65 años. La causa directa de muerte más frecuente fue la sepsis respiratoria, seguida de la diseminación metastásica del tumor. El tipo histológico más frecuente en el caso de los tumores pulmonares fue el carcinoma epidermoide.
