De la perforación intestinal por fiebre tifoidea en la sala de reanimación del hospitalcentral de cabinda durante el año 2002

Abstract

En el Hospital Central (Provincial) de la provincia de Cabinda (HCC), República de Angola, fue realizado un estudio sobre la incidencia de la Perforación Intestinal por Fiebre Tifoidea en la Sala de Reanimación de dicho centro hospitalario. Se revisaron las Historias Clínicas de todos los pacientes ingresados en la sala con ese diagnóstico durante el año 2002 (35, según consta en el Libro de Registro de pacientes). Mediante el método observacional- analítico, se constató que no hay diferencia de edades para la ocurrencia de esta complicación y que las edades entre 0 y 20 años son las de mayor frecuencia, en especial entre los 11 y 15 años. El 94,39% de los pacientes tuvieron patologías asociadas inductoras de inmunodepresión, especialmente Malaria y SIDA y la época del año con más incidencia fue la de calor (sep- abril para esta zona geográfica). Sólo hubo 3 fallecimientos después de la cirugía, uno del primer quinquenio de vida, otro mayor de 60 años y un tercero con múltiples complicaciones.
