Valoración de la presencia de entamoeba dispar ( Brumpt, 1925), en Ciego de Ávila
Abstract
Se trabajaron 2180 muestras de heces fecales de niños que impresionaban amebiasis intestinal sintomática en un periodo de 3 años. Los que resultaron positivos a E. histolytica se les administro metronidazol 30mg/kg de peso 3 veces al día durante 10 días. Se repitió el examen a los 21 días y los que se mantuvieron positivos se les realizo el examen gastoenterologico con el objetivo de descartar lesiones gastrointestinales sangrantes y una vez obtenidos los resultados se practico un test de sangre oculta con el objetivo de descartar E. dispar. Los resultados obtenidos permiten concluir que: Existe fuerte evidencia para señalar la presencia de E. dispar en Ciego de Ávila, se aprecia la efectividad del metronidazol para la E. Histolytica, los casos positivos de E. histolytica deben informarse como E. histolytica/dispar, deben valorarse otras patologías digestivas en los casos en que después de efectuar el tratamiento con metronidazol aparezcan nuevamente quistes de E. histolytica.
