Ventilación mecánica en unidad de cuidados intensivos pedriatricos 2005-2006

Abstract

Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo con objeto de determinar el comportamiento de la ventilación mecánica en los niños ingresados en UCIP del Hospital Provincial Docente “Dr. Antonio Luaces Iraola” en los años 2004-2005 (639), para la realización del mismo se utilizaron como fuente de información las historias clínicas y el libro de registro de la sala Los datos obtenidos se procesaron manualmente, se analizaron por medida de frecuencia y presentaron en tablas estadísticas obteniéndose los siguientes resultados: el 7.6 % recibieron ventilación mecánica, el grupo de edades más frecuente ventilado fue el de 1 - 4 años 9.3%, el 59,2 % procedían de las salas hospitalarias y el 28,6 % del cuerpo de guardia, el 53,1 % llegaron en estado crítico. La morbilidad más frecuente fueron las afecciones respiratorias 44,9 %, la sepsis 16,3 % y los accidentes 14.3 % el 46.9 % recibieron tratamiento ventilatorio por más de 72 horas, el 38.7 %
sufrieron complicaciones siendo la más frecuente la neumonía nosocomial
