Evaluación de los efectos inmunológicos humorales, alérgicos y clínicos de la inmunoterapia sublingual en niños con asma bronquial.

Abstract

La Inmunoterapia Sublingual es un tratamiento seguro y de fácil administración; a través de un
diseño observacional descriptivo prospectivo, se aplicó mediante la técnica de deglución, en 20
niños atópicos con asma bronquial persistente leve-moderada. Se evaluó la respuesta inmune
humoral y alérgica in vivo e in vitro, al inicio y al año de tratamiento. Al inicio el 100% de los
pacientes estaban sensibilizados a los ácaros del polvo, la inmunoglobulina E total estaba elevada
en el 55% y se determinó que el 30% tenía una deficiencia selectiva de Inmunoglobulina A
asociada. Un año después de la Inmunoterapia Sublingual se obtuvo discreta respuesta
hiposensibilizante en más del 50% de los pacientes, los niveles de Inmunoglobulina E no
mostraron cambios significativos, aunque cualitativamente evaluada el 80% de los pacientes
tuvieron valores normales. La mejoría clínica fue evidente en todos los niños y no se presentaron
reacciones colaterales durante el tratamiento. Se demuestra que ha sido un tratamiento factible y
seguro que mejora la sintomatología clínica en los niños con asma bronquial.
