Manifestaciones clinico-epidemiológicas en las enfermedades diarreicas agudas por cryptosporidium

Abstract

Se realizó una investigación observacional descriptiva para conocer el comportamiento de algunas variables clínico epidemiológicas relacionadas con las Enfermedades Diarreicas Agudas por Cryptosporidium sp. En lactantes ingresados en la sala de Gastroentorología del Servicio de Pediatría del Hospital General Provincial Docente de Morón durante el año 1996.

Los resultados más importantes que se obtuvieron fueron: La mayor proporción de casos pertenecía al grupo de edad de 0 a 3 meses, el sexo masculino y al área rural, en los meses de junio, julio, agosto y septiembre se presentó la mayor frecuencia de pacientes; la lactancia artificial fue la más empleada; el 83, 3 por ciento de los casos era normopeso; las condiciones socioeconómicas malas y regulares predominaron; la duración de las diarreas fue de menos de 14 días en el 91, 7 por ciento de los pacientes; los síntomas y signos más frecuentes fueron las diarreas, los vómitos, la fiebre y las manifestaciones respiratorias; la entamoeba hystolítica se asoció en el 5,9 por ciento de los casos.
