Sepsis en pacientes obstétricas ingresadas en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos
Abstract
Se revisaron 18 Historias Clínicas de pacientes obstétricas de un total de 23 casos ingresados con el diagnóstico de sepsis en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (U.C.I.) del Hospital Provincial Docente Antonio Luaces Iraola en el período comprendido entre Enero de 1990 a junio de 1996. El 31,9 % de los casos ingresados fueron pacientes obstétricas siendo la sepsis post-parto la de mayor morbilidad, no se encontró diferencias entre los grupos de edades. La anemia y la urosepsis fueron los antecedentes que con mayor frecuencia se recuperaron, no hubo relación aparente entre el estado nutricional y la necesidad de tratamiento quirúrgico. La histerectomía fue más frecuente en pacientes cesareadas, el tipo de sepsis que predominó fue la endometritis. El número de tactos así como la deficiencia en la atención prenatal fueron factores a considerar en la adquisición de la sepsis, hubo una pobre utilización del laboratorio de microbiología en los casos estudiados.Downloads
