Evaluación sobre cultura sanitaria en familiares de niños diabéticos
Abstract
La diabetes mellitus es un trastorno metabólico de múltiple etiología, caracterizado por hiperglucemia crónica con trastornos del metabolismo de los carbohidratos, grasas y proteínas. Se realiza una investigación con el objetivo de conocer los conocimientos que sobre educación diabetológica poseen los familiares de niños, para ello se realizó un estudio descriptivo con los familiares de niños diabéticos pertenecientes del territorio Sur de la provincia de Ciego de Ávila desde enero del 2006 a diciembre del 2008. El nivel de conocimientos de los familiares fue satisfactorio en un 78,38% (29/37) de un total de 580 respuestas correctas; hubo una mayor incidencia de respuestas incorrectas en las preguntas relacionadas con generalidades sobre la diabetes en un 16,22% (6/37) de los familiares entrevistados. Se concluye que los conocimientos sobre educación sanitaria en los familiares de niños diabéticos aun es insuficiente para lograr un control metabólico adecuado y evitar o posponer la aparición de complicacionesDownloads
