Resultados del programa de salud ocular en la provincia Ciego de Avila

Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo de 3454 cirugías oculares realizadas en el servicio de Oftalmología del Hospital “Antonio Luaces Iraola” de la provincia de Ciego de Ávila, en el período comprendido desde Enero del 2002 a Diciembre del 2005 con el objetivo de conocer los resultados de la aplicación del Programa Nacional de Salud Ocular, se analizaron como variables las cirugías por patologías, las cirugías de catarata con y sin implante de LIO y la tasa de cirugía de catarata. En el análisis de los resultados obtenidos se observa un incremento notable en las cirugías oculares excepto en la cirugía de Glaucoma, la cirugía de catarata alcanzó el 56.22 %, el implante de Lentes Intraoculares aumentó en 35.19 %, la Tasa de Cirugía de Catarata tuvo un crecimiento anual importante en relación al año 2002, alcanzándose en el 2005 una tasa de 1703 cirugías de catarata por millón de habitantes.Downloads
