Intoxicaciones agudas en niños del Territorio norte de la Provincia de Ciego de Avila.
Abstract
Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo en 133 pacientes con intoxicaciones agudas que fueron atendidos en el Hospital General Provincial Docente de Morón, en el período comprendido desde el 1ro de Enero de 1998 al 31 de Diciembre de 1999, para conocer el comportamiento de algunas variables epidemiológicas, relacionadas con esta enfermedad. El grupo de edad de 1-4 años (57.9%) y en el sexo masculino (69.1%) fueron los más afectados, la circunstancia accidental predominó (78.2%) y la ingestión fue la vía de entrada más frecuente; los productos químicos fueron los principales agentes causales (54.8%) seguido de los medicamentos (39.8%). En los meses de invierno (Octubre a Marzo) hubo mayor número de intoxicados y los síntomas digestivos fueron los más frecuentemente encontrados (84.2).
